About us

Our History

ACF-N was founded by Umara Zulum PhD, a Lecturer of Geoinformatics in the Department of Geography, University of Maiduguri, and a Consultant at AGIS Nigerian Ltd. He is also affiliated with the School of Liberal Arts (SLA), Noida International University, Greater Noida, India. Alongside a group of passionate individuals, he established ACF-N out of a shared commitment to address the urgent environmental and social challenges affecting communities.
Over the years, ACF-N has grown into a recognized organization with a strong presence at the community level, driving impactful initiatives in environmental protection, sustainable development, nutrition, education, and human rights advocacy.

Recognition & Partnerships

ACF-N operates through strong institutional collaboration, strategic partnerships, and full regulatory compliance. We work closely with government bodies and development stakeholders to ensure that our programs are coordinated, impactful, and aligned with national development priorities.

We maintain formal MoUs with:

  • Borno State Ministry of Health & Borno State Primary Health Care Development Board

  • Yobe State Ministry of Health & Yobe State Primary Health Care Development Board

These partnerships enable us to deliver community health, nutrition, and environmental programs in direct support of state-led systems.

ACF-N is fully registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and recognized by the Borno State Agency for Coordination of Sustainable Development and Humanitarian Response, ensuring transparency and institutional accountability.

We are accredited by the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD), further strengthening our legitimacy and commitment to addressing climate change, land degradation, and environmental sustainability at both national and global levels.

Our Executive Director is PSEA Certified, demonstrating our firm commitment to safeguarding, dignity, and a zero-tolerance policy toward exploitation or abuse.
